Tivoli Pantomine: Alice in Wonderland

Tivoli Theatre Pantomimes. Alice in Wonderland St John`s Church Hall Malvern East   Tivoli Theatre Pantomimes established by Carole Ann and Terry Gill has been running since 1974. In 2015 the company entered a new era, in the hands of Clinton Barker as Artistic Director. Clinton brings over 15 years of experience as a musical theatre performer. (1)   Alice in Wonderland is children’s pantomime at its best. With a mix of great acting and excellent vocals the cast puts together a highly polished performance. The story includes all of Lewis Carols character’s in a hour and a half show featuring Lewis Carols famous story line mixed with classic children’s nursery rhymes and songs – and just enough humor to give the adults a laugh too. The theatre layout – rather than the traditional rows of seating, is rows of trestle tables and chairs giving a relaxed party atmosphere to the performance. Unfortunately the planed interval treat of tarts didn’t happen – thanks to the Nave of Hearts stealing all the tarts, but luckily the theatre staff came to the rescue with mountains of fairy bread. It was also great to see a full house for the performance. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some of Australia’s leading children’s shows and the Tivoli`s productions rate among the best. So grab the kids, Grandkids, or just borrow some and come along to what is a great performance. My kids loved it, and it was a great trip down memory lane for me having been bought up on pantomimes.   Glen   GW Photography   (1)    Reference: Tivoli Pantomime Website http://tivolitheatre.com.au
